Identity in Russian design: how to find yourself during a global pandemic

Alice graduated from the British Higher School of Art and Design and stayed to teach there. Alice now teaches several courses in the framework of Product and Industrial Design programs. In 2015, Alice's Sagano Bamboo Furniture project took the 3rd prize at the Salone Satellite.Moscow, and in 2016 it was presented at the Salone Satellite in Milan. The successful collection of twisted veneer furniture inspired the designer to create own company, MONTLY. Today Alice develops two directions: she supervises MONTLY collections and creates designs for other commercial brands in Russia and abroad. In creating new objects, Alice consistently expands the boundaries of what is possible, following the narrative dictated by the material itself. She prefers a research method of work: she studies the properties of materials and experiments a lot, creating unique recognizable objects.
