Task

RT’s photo exhibition “The Epidemic with Anton Krasovsky” was dedicated to the Russian medics’ fight against COVID-19. The exhibition was created on the sidelines of RT’s special project “The Epidemic with Anton Krasovsky” – a documentary series, meant to raise the awareness of the biggest public health threats in Russia. While the series’ goal is to educate and inform people about the coronavirus epidemic, the exhibition is a way to introduce them to the heroes fighting on the frontlines.

Ideas and solutions

RT’s photo exhibition “The Epidemic with Anton Krasovsky” took place at the Gogolevsky Boulevard in Moscow, 3.08.2020 – 16.08.2020, and featured over 30 pictures by the special assignment photographer Maksim Avdeev. He made several hundreds of photographs throughout the filming of the project – portraits of doctors and nurses, as well as pictures of their daily work in the intensive care units. The most poignant of them were picked for the exhibition. Each picture had a QR-code, pointing to the online series “The Epidemic with Anton Krasovsky”. “The Epidemic with Anton Krasovsky” is hosted by Anton Krasovsky, a renowned Russian journalist and LGBT activist. Krasovsky is living with HIV and is a founder of AIDS.CENTER foundation. It was launched to address the problem of HIV and AIDS in Russia, but in February 2020 the project had to shift its focus to the most acute risk to the nations’ wellbeing - the COVID-19 epidemic.
