1 in 10 Russians has experienced torture or violence by law enforcement agencies. But the topic of torture is so painful and frightening that society prefers to ignore it. Security forces cynically give torture innocent and joking names, many of which resemble yoga asanas: Little Elephant, Songbird, Swallow, Stretching etc.

Russian Yoga School is a social project concerning torture in Russia. It is a series of videos in which popular Russian actors and musicians describe widespread forms of torture as if they were yoga exercises. 500 000 rubles in donations in the first 10 days.
