Task
Saga is a sleeping app from Sweden, the world leader in sleep research. The challenge was to create a design for techno-optimists and support the brand's Swedish origins without slipping into the traditional visual aesthetics of Vikings, flags and drakkars.
Ideas and solutions
The app is not a mattress or a pillow, so it was important for us to find a balance between the symbols of sleep and technology. At the same time, we kept in mind that we need to reflect the Scandinavian origin of the brand. We chose the northern lights as a starting point of the design. In the image of this natural phenomenon, all the meanings we need were combined: both the nature of Scandinavia, and the night with sleep, and even digital aesthetics. The visual plasticity of the radiance is similar to the gradient fills and textures of screens.
