Task
The main goal was to make the new version of the app comfortable for users as well as modern and relevant for the business. The old application was noncompliant and provided no opportunity for flexible management and adjustment. When redesigning the app, we aimed at simplifying it and developed a set of visualisation presets which allowed effortless management and hypothesis testing. This year we’ve completely redesigned the app and launched an updated version for iOS and Android.
Ideas and solutions
We've completed a full redesign of the app’s registration system. Earlier registration was complex and confused users with too many possible login options, two of which were extremely unpopular. Predictably it received a lot of negative user feedback. We have limited options to one that allows a login via a phone number using a one-time SMS verification code with autofill functionality. It was decided to extend catalog functionality with filters. Additionally, we've developed a full-fledged search by product, category and brand — all available right from the home screen. Streamlined the campaign management, so that promotions could be adjusted flexibly, simplifying the work with a wide range of marketing activities. We've collected all promotions into a single section and improved the layout per category. It allowed displaying a series of products in sliders, single product categories or banners, which led to the different promotions within and outside the app. We’ve plunged into the business peculiarities and significantly updated price tags. We've developed 5 options for product cards for 3 pricing types, 4 availability states and 4 types of promotions. e-Legion team has also modified the shopping list section. Now it displays product image and price and allows quick access into the product card. Additionally, we've added the functionality to count the approximate cost of the list. Furthermore, with significant modifications of the recipes section, recipes are showcased now by categories (national cuisine, holiday dishes, family dinner, etc.).The section can be filtered by cuisine, dish type, ingredients and complexity. Each recipe can be saved to the user's favorites list. We are constantly keeping the app’s high ratings thanks to a gradual upgrading process: 4.2 on App Store and 4.4 on Google Play. New app’s version crash-free rates: 99,98% for iOS and 99,93% for Android.
