iOS and Android apps for basketball club PARMA Благиных Андрей
Task
1. To increase sales of merchandise and tickets. 2. To build and boost fan engagement by gathering and analyzing the data obtained using FRM-system (Fan Relationship Management System). 3. To create a system that will inform fans about the upcoming events and club activities. 4. To improve the club's public image. It should create an impression of an active club which keeps with modern trends yet doesn’t forget about its traditions, principles and the history full of victories.
Ideas and solutions
During the development of the solution we: Conducted a background research: visited matches in which club PARMA participated, inspected spatial organisation, analyzed fan activity during the matches and conducted surveys among them. Studied the game’s rules, team results and leaderboard. Interviewed the club’s management and reviewed its marketing policy, that includes events, deals and sales channels for tickets. Determined possible growth vectors. Examined PARMA official website, websites of other members of VTB United League and other leagues. Using PARMA official website statistics, we managed to study its users and develop their pattern of behavior. Reviewed books, articles, reports on sports marketing and reviewed other companies’ analytics. Studied behavior of official groups’ members on social media. Consulted with the developers of the online ticket-selling system to understand how to implement it in our app, contacted representatives of VTB United League and gained permission to use their statistics database. Identified several groups of users depending on their intentions. Using this data developed use cases for our app and its information structure. We decided to develop native applications for iOS and Android. In technical design specification we described requirements for the server side, API and interoperability. In the home screen there will be results of a last match, an invitation to an upcoming match with an option to buy a ticket, news, players’ info, sponsors’ logos and ads. The app’s main function is buying tickets. Users just need to choose a match on the calendar, press “buy a ticket”, pick a seat and make a purchase. Information about purchased tickets can be viewed in a user’s profile. There will be barcodes that can be used as a ticket. In “Media” section users can see photos made by professional photographers during matches. Registered users will be able to adjust push-notifications for news, special offers and match results.
