Task

1. State the importance of authentic and alternative places in the city 2. To create a community of people who want to explore unusual city places 3. To empower residents to declare the importance of places

Ideas and solutions

CONTEXT Authentic places form the real identity of a city. A mysterious dovecote, a local community, a flea market, a street art on a shabby wall, an abandoned factory. These places connect us emotionally with the urban environment. Unfortunately, sometimes unofficial places are valued much less than official attractions. And they are collapsing, closing and disappearing. CONCEPT I’ve developed a new brand Tuda-suda. It’s an app with AR navigation to alternative city places. The project forms a hidden dimension, where a user can dive into to start seeing things that he/she didn’t notice before. Travellers get a deep and unique experience of city exploration. Local residents can declare the importance of places by adding them on the map. The city consists of different contrasting components. 3D shapes visualize city routes and flows. They keep urban memory, experience and culture in themselves. 3D objects can become transparent to reflect the environment. The changing font means the endless movement and exploration. In the project I am talking about the other side of the city. The mirrored type becomes a new mysterious language. In Russian «tuda suda» means «hither and thither», so the name tells us about a variety of directions and experiences. When you enter the app, you can select a zone on the map and a category. Then you can follow the AR route to the place. When you come to the place, you can read about it and discuss it with other users.
